Today we commemorate International Women’s Day, under the theme proposed by UN Women “Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality.” A gender-responsive approach to innovation, technology, and digital education increases the awareness of the human rights of women and girls. Advancements in digital technology offer immense opportunities to address development and achieve the 2030 Agenda’s Sustainable Development Goals, however, we have to achieve technical innovation to secure the safety of women and girls in digital spaces.![]()

In January 2020, Mexico issued the “Olimpia Act” (Ley Olimpia) or “Digital Violence Act”, in order to fight digital violence, which innovative law is being reviewed and adopted in other LatAm countries. Today we invite all to reflect on the importance of commemorating this day which marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.![]()
